Hey all readers of Korean through Lyrics,
I am so happy! I just got my tickets to FT Island and CN Blue’s concert in Los Angeles! YEAH!!!
I got up early just to make sure I log in at 10am PST. At first I got on Ticketmaster.com because I am very familiar with them. At 9:58am, it still says tickets are not available so I was patiently waiting untill 10am. I just kept refreshing the page or went to the home page and searched again. Finally when it came back with availability, it showed 3 VIP packages to choose from: Diamond VIP ($375), Platinum VIP ($85) and Gold VIP ($75). But the funny thing was the last two VIP packages did not include tickets. I wasn’t sure what’s going on and I had to choose one of the packages and click on “Find Tickets.” I didn’t know what to do but no matter which package I chose it didn’t have any. I am so confused. Since I was so eager to get the tickets, I decided to go to POWERHOUSELIVE.net.

Cool! So I clicked on it and it showed me the ticket prices. Finally, something I could understand. So I picked the price and headed to fill out the rest of information to purchase the tickets. OK, so far so good! When I clicked on “Process Order” it took a long time to update the page, eventually it said “error processing.” OMG! So I clicked “Process Order” again. Same thing happened! Long processing time and came back with error. So I decided to try Ticketmaster again! Finally somehow I got to a page where I could see the ticket prices. So I was ordering there. I tried to see what’s best available at the time and the most expensive ones are gone! The best were the $150 tickets. Anyway, I ordered my tickets and I realized the total is higher than ordering on Powerhouselive.net because Ticketmaster charges a higher convenience fee and processing fee. It’s actually double that of Powerhouselive.net. So I tried to order on Powerhouselive.net again. You know, I have to juggle two pages open at the same time and see which one got me the tickets first. However, Powerhouselive.net kept having processing error and in the end I just went with Ticketmaster even they had higher fees.
I am glad that I got the tickets. I guess there must be a lot of people trying to buy on Powerhouselive.net and it just couldn’t handle the load. Ticketmaster has a higher fee but maybe that’s part of handling the traffic that they get on a daily basis. I don’t know. I am trying to not think about the higher fees and just focus on the fact that I am going to see FT Island! ^^

OK, now I have to prepare for the concert so expect lessons to come soon. I have to beef up my Korean so I can understand what they say at the concert. How exciting! ^^
Hi, do you live in LA? I am flying alllllll the way from NY. I got the most expensive seats through ticketmaster even though I am aware of the fees and all but I can’t help it. When are they ever going to come to the US again, not to mention NY. = )

Yes, I live in LA. You are flying all the way from NY! Wow! That must be exciting. I tried to get the most expensive tickets but it was sold out by the time I get to it. Did you have to go through those three packages like I listed? I didn’t know what to do with that and ran into problems to get the actual tickets. Maybe that’s why I couldn’t get the most expensive ones. Bummer! But I am glad that I can still go to the concert.

I am going! I am flying all the way from Florida! I am so excited I got Center left row V isle seat. Tickets went so fast! I bought mine soon as it hit sell time and pit was GONE! >.<

From Florida? OMG! That’s crazy! I had the same experience. I don’t know how the tickets go so fast. I started right at 10am too. I am thinking the tickets must be sold out by now.

My seats are 203 in the orchestra but i am row V. Lucky i near isle so i won’t have a ton of heads in the way =P Ahhh i so excited! I wonder if they will hold a fan meet to get autographs and such!

As soon as tickets started selling, I got two tickets immediately and I got Row 5 in the pit. I am going with my friend, not yet confirmed, but she doesn’t really know kpop. She is the only one I can really go with. Hope she likes the music.
Other than the concert, I am not even sure what to do in LA since I don’t drive. = (

I am starting to think about what to do. I actually have never been to the LA Live area. Is there any good restaurants there? If so, maybe all of us can gather together, eat first and go to concert. What do you think? I only got the $100 ticket so you will be closer. Good for you!

yes it will be one of the best days ever for me! Btw how the weather in LA in March. I from florida so it always hot. Is it hot in march there?
The weather has been weird lately. It could be warm during the day and then it’s cold at night. I would suggest dress in layers and definitely bring a jacket.
kayyyy! It been hot PERIOD all winter here in Florida… like today it hit 90…. and is average 85 all winter basically >.> this is not winter… just mild-summer. I bet compared to cold korea atm SF will feel like heaven to the boys when they come =P
I would totally love to meet up with other FT Island fans! I am bringing my friend who isn’t really into kpop but I do have an extra ticket. So far, she has not confirmed with me yet whether she would be able to come with me or not so I have not booked any airfare.
Worst comes to worst, I fly out on my own and wing it.
Any suggestions? If I have no one to go with me to LA, I am willing to give out that one extra ticket for free with a fellow fan in LA (one of you I am guessing) so I would have company.

I bought two tickets just in case but I was totally prepared to go alone. I should know by the end of this week what the deal is. I had asked a friend or two if they would be able to go with me and no one confirmed yet. I think I would have more fun going to the concert with a fan than someone who has no clue hehehe.

I totally agree it’s more fun to go with fans. Going with people who doesn’t care as much makes you feel like you are crazy or something. But when you do all these crazy things with other fans, it’s totally cool! :-p

Did you see I just posted all the tracks on this blog? I do like the album. I have to say, other than Hong Ki, I like Jaejin’s voice the best. He sounded really gentle and soft and it’s perfect for love songs.

I have always loved Jaejin from the beginning and I am glad he is second vocal because it balances out with Hong Ki’s powerful husky voice. = )

Seriously? I actually think they will probably sell the yellow FT Island primadonna flags there. They probably will have glow stick as well. But it’s good to be prepared too.

I might just buy the glow sticks since i am flying from Florida and it probably be a pain to pack a flag in my suitcase since they aren’t exactly short xD ahhh i so excited… i totally had to lie to my work saying i was going to a family members wedding though and my parents bought tickets that couldnt be refunded T^T ONLY FOR FTISLAND I WILL LIE!~
Haha! Yeah I didn’t even tell my parents what I am really doing in LA; I just told them that my friend wants to do a mini vacation there. My mom would flip out if she found out I flew across the country just to see a kpop concert. She makes fun of me because I bought the Beast concert dvd but I told her it was on sale for $20 when it was really $50 lol.
lol I told them literally 20 mins before tickets went on sale and they were surprisingly cool about me flying across the country. It was rather surprising but they knew they couldn’t tell me no and stop me since I am 19 lol. But they are used to my obsession with FTisland and kpop and support me as long as I stay in school =P But if i told them the concert tickets were 120 dollars they probably be shocked!!!

Hey my friend suggested a place that be fun to go to for dinner or something and walk around before concert for a meet-up. She suggested a place like 5 mins from concert called Little Tokyo. It’s like Japanese version of China Town. She said there are fun shops and yummy food. So if we all could meet up somewhere we could all go together =]
Yeah, that sounds great! I just booked my hotel last night and we are staying at the Wilshire Hotel in Ktown LA.
okay awesome! Do you have skype that way i can add you and it might be easier to plan a meetup if we all make a group IM chat together that way i can add my friend who knows the area pretty well to it and we can plan a place too meet up at before concert. I don’t know LA AT ALL but she does.
I don’t have skype but I can learn how to use it real easy. I know my friend and I are going to be driving around and doing a lot of things in LA so I’ll check with her first and see what our itinerary looks like. I’ll keep you posted.

Brittany, well both K-town and Little Tokyo are close. They are right next to each other. However, we still need to drive from both places to Nokia Theatre. I was actually thinking of restaurants in LA Live so we can just walk. But if you guys want Korean food or Japanese, I don’t mind going to either. I know pretty well about restaurants in both areas. I just don’t know the restaurants in LA Live well.

Hi all i’m from LA and I have a friend that works @ the Nokia so Im going through him to get to the concert. I love Hongki and im soooooooo excited!!!! i missed big bang last year when they shot the MV for knockout but a concert to hear their angelic voices….swoooooooooooooooon:) ANywhoo the nokia is right in the heart of downtown LA in a place called LA live. If you are over 21 it’s better because there are clubs and upscale bowling…if not there are tons of restaurants, coffee shops, a movie theater, and the grammy museum too.
