안녕하세요, 여러분.

Welcome everyone who takes the time to come and check out my first blog – Learning Korean through Lyrics.

I have been learning Korean for quite some time now but I am not good at all. My passion lately is Korean music and I like to translate them for my own understanding. However, I decided to write this blog for the following reasons:

1. exchange ideas on learning Korean with fellow Korean language learners

2. have native Koreans correct my mistakes

3. promo Korean music artists that I like and make friends with fans of same artist all over the world

4. keep up with the hottest action online these days – blogging 😛

  1. natsuki376 says:

    hi there
    a good start for a blog(unlike mine.. -_-)
    keep up the good work!n…
    any latest news on wonbin?
    (p/s: where r u from?)

    • mwgrace says:

Thanks for visiting my blog. How did you find it? I am so excited this morning when I see your comment. I finally got to meet other FT Island fans!! YEAH!!! I didn’t hear anything about WonBin yet. Will need to put on this blog if I hear anything.

I am from the US. How about you?

    • Lori M says:

Do you also have a Blog? I would wish to read yours, 🙂

  2. natsuki376 says:

    i’m fti’s fan too! ^_^

    • mwgrace says:

I will be translating pretty much their songs in next couple lesson. Please come back often. I want more FT Island fans here!! 😀

Very nice meeting you! 만나서 반갑습니다.

  3. Jooyoung says:

WoW ^_^ Actually I checked your blog at this morning, but I couldn’t write any comments. I was in lab to correct my essay. haha
    Anyway this blog is nice!
I can also learn English through your blog.:-)
I wanna make this but maybe I can’t.
    You know.. I’m lazy.. haha

  4. lorenzo says:

nice blog! i’ve never heard of fti. bring a cd next time i see you. really wish i could make it to dim sum. 😦

    • mwgrace says:

You will get to hear more about them from me on this blog from now on! 🙂

We will go dim sum another time, ok?

  5. Aryf says:

What a great blog and a wonderful start. 축하합미다. 이렇게 계속해보세요!

  6. daniel KANG says:

그레이스도 한국어 실력 금방 늘것 같은데요..

노래와 함께 배울수 있으니 더 집중도 잘되는것 같군요..

    잘 보고갑니다^^

  7. Zeanie Yoon says:

Awesome! 곧 함께 노래도 하고 한국어로 대화도 하는 날을 기다립니다.

I will be learning Korean song now. 🙂

  8. Georges A. says:

Excellent! This is how we should learn Korean: through songs and movies! As a non-Korean I’m only interested in understanding songs and movies. Other things that we learn at class or KCC are not helpful at all and make us more confused! Good job Grace. Looking forward to your next lesson 🙂

  9. natsuki376 says:

i’m from malaysia. so sad that i cant go to their showcase in s’pore this end of the month! T-T
heard that wonbin actually leaved fti coz he wanted fti to be an emo band.
hope to see more from you in the near future! ^0^

    • mwgrace says:

Natsuki376, very nice meeting you! Thanks for visiting my site. Please come by often as I keep translating their songs.

What do you mean by emo band? There are so many rumors about why Wonbin left but I am not sure which one is true.

I wish I could go to their showcase in Singapore too. Well, hopefully some other fans will post how did that go!

  10. natsuki376 says:

i’m not really sure though. yeah, true there’s many rumors on why he left fti. but (if this is true) he wanted the band to sing sad songs only. did you see his latest pictures on his cyworld? so black and white, so emo. but it’s a nice picture to me (haha, i’m being bias here!)

    • mwgrace says:

To me, Wonbin is such a sunny kind of guy. It’s hard to believe he would like to sing sad songs and sad songs only. FT Island was never like that. Where is his cyworld profile? I have not seen it. Can you send the link to me? I tried to search for it but couldn’t find it. At least, not the pictures that you are talking about. 😀

  11. Wendy says:

Hi Grace. I love the idea of learning Korean through lyrics. I love so many Korean boy bands. I should be fluent in no time, right? F.T. Island is one of my favorite groups. I MISS WON BIN. I saw the pic. Is that a drink in his hand. Say it isn’t so. Noooooooo Wonbin, the bottle isn’t the way to go. My favorite F.T Island song is Baraem (Prayer). Won bin sings in this one. Does it only have to be F.T. Island? 2AM and 2PM are my current favs. Some phrases I’ve learn through lyrics:

Nuna nomu yepposeo – Nuna you are so pretty
    Miduhyo – Believe
    Pungseoni – Balloons
I Norae bakke eoptta – I only have this song
Omoni bogoshipoyo – Mother, I miss you
    Haengbok – Happiness
Only you neomani nareul sallil su isseo – only you can bring me to life

    Aloha :0)

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Wendy,

I am glad that you like my learning Korean through lyrics idea. That’s pretty much my primary way of learning Korean these days. You should be fluent in no time. I hope I will be too! 😛

바램 is a nice song. I will definitely get to it sometime. I just found the lyrics so I will translate it some time. 🙂

It doesn’t have to be FT Island. As I put on my blog, my goal was to promote artists that I like. 🙂 So I intend to have other artists but I think I do want to get to my FT Island songs first. But in order not to turn off other potential readers, I will definitely get to other artists sooner to give a little more variety. 🙂 I actually don’t know 2AM and 2PM. I guess my days are too much filled with FT Island these days. 🙂 But I will definitely check them out. I do like boy bands too. I feel like I am the world boy band supporter. ;-P

The phrases that you have should be like this in Korean, in case you want to know:

누나 너무 예뻐서 – nuna you are so pretty (that’s Shinee’s song Amigo, right?)
믿어요 – believe (appears in many songs)
풍선이 – balloon (actuallly 풍선 is balloon, 이 is just the subject marker)(That’s from TVXQ’s song, right?)
이 노래 밖에 없다 – I only have this song (literally is “there is nothing outside of this song”)
어머니 보고싶어요 – Mother I miss you (is this a song, too?)
행복 – Happiness (appears in almost every song especially FTI’s songs! :-P)
Don’t know what the last one I can’t get the first part but I get the last part. What song is it?

Wendy, very nice meeting you. We can learn lots of Korean through lyrics together! 🙂 Feel free to let me know what songs you would like to see in here! I will try my best. My Korean is no where close to good but I keep trying. 😀 That’s all I can do!

  12. Sari says:

    Hi Grace,

I think this is wonderful that you are doing this. What a great way to learn Korean. I love that you even pick grammar points to explain. What a great idea! Can we add suggestions for songs we want to learn the meaning of?

    • mwgrace says:

Sure you can make suggestions. But I will see if I like that song. haha… As I said, part of the goal of the blog was to promote Korean artists so it’s good to have variety. 🙂

I am glad that you like the song. Where are you today? I thought you were coming!

  13. Jason says:

    Hi Grace!

    Your blog is fantastic!
I’m sorry I didn’t see your blog before the class, otherwise I would’ve been well prepared and maybe our class could have translated a second song? Do you think 2 songs are possible if we all studied one of the songs before class??

Any-hoot, I love and listen to Korean songs but I rarely know the artist or the lyrical translation.

My childhood friend became fluent in Korean just by listening and learning Korean songs.

Yeah Grace, great idea… learn Korean, learn a Korean song & be more in tune w/ the current Korean culture all @ the same time! The beauty of it is, I will now be able to study/practice Korean @ home! I want to become fluent in Korean but I had no motivation @ home, “Learning Korean through lyrics” will certainly motivate me now!

    • mwgrace says:

Thanks for coming. Please visit the blog often to learn more songs or get really familiar with songs we have gone over. This is a good experiement to see how much are people interested in learning Korean through songs and I think the feedback has been positive. I am happy that others sure the same view. That’s my motivation of learning Korean these days.

Stay tune. I am going to post another song real soon.

  14. Wendy says:

Annyonghaseyo Grace. I loved your class yesterday. It was fun going over the FT Island song. I’m going to learn the lyrics so the next we meet I can sing along with Grace. BTW you have a great voice. If Hong Gi decides to leave, you can replace him. Looking forward to the next class. Aloha.

    • mwgrace says:

      Dear Wendy,
Thanks for coming to my class. I hope you like and song. I find continuing listen to the song will help you memorize the vocabulary. So next time when we go to norebang, you will have to sing with me. I love Hongki’s voice. He can’t be replaced. 🙂

Don’t forget to check back often! 🙂

  15. Rachel says:

    Hi Grace!

I got the link to this blog from someone in the Chicago Korean Language Meetup Group. I love music and listen to a lot of Korean songs, so this is awesome! I like FTI too. 🙂

    • mwgrace says:

Thanks for stopping by. I didn’t know I reach to the Chicago meetup group now. You gave me the idea that I should definitely promote my blog to the meetup group. Being an organizer myself of the LA Korean Language Meetup, I don’t know why I haven’t though of promoting on the meetup group. 🙂
Anyway, I love to meet all of you FT Island fans out there. You just made my day. Please come back and check my blog often and leave me comments. I should be update the blog every week. That’s what keeps me going. F.T.I.S.L.A.N.D. Let’s go~

  17. John Ssi says:

    Hi again Grace ,

…Ft.Island is a nice choice . They are very popular here for those of Us who listen to Korean pop songs in Chicago. Also Wonder Girls had a debut on Wendy Williams show today . They are on a US tour with Jonas Brothers management . WG ” Nobody ” and ” Tell Me ”
are popular songs as well . ^^

좋은 하루 되세요하고 좋은 일을 계속요

    ~죤 씨 입니다

    • mwgrace says:

      안녕하세요, 존씨!

잘 지냈어요? FT Island is popular in Chicago too? Interesting! They are definitely gaining popularity everywhere! I am so glad to see that. I hope they get more recognition as a band instead of pretty faces, you know? I know Wonder Girls is touring with Jonas Brothers. However, I don’t really see how their fan bases cross with each other. Do you think Jonas Brother’s fans actually like the Wonder Girls? “Nobody” and “Tell me” are the only two songs that I know too. I was actually thinking of translating “Nobody” here.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment. Please come back and check out the new songs of FT Island and “Nobody”. (^.^)

  18. Wendy says:

Just saw “I Hope” video. Catchy song but not feeling the new dos. Still can’t get used to FT Island w/o Won Bin. Don’t like Seung Hyun. Not now. Not ever. I know it’s not his fault but NO ONE CAN EVER REPLACE WON BIN. Can you please translate 바램….PLEASE!

    • mwgrace says:

      안녕하세요, 웬디씨 ,

So nice to see you here again. I was wondering where are the fans at these days! (^.^)

I agree, the new do needs a while to get used to. But since they are so cute, it’s still not too bad! (^.^) You really don’t like Seung Hyun that much? I have to agree Won Bin is more manly and cute. Seung Hyun has a different style. Don’t think of him as a replacement for Won Bin. Just think of him as a new member then. Maybe it will be better. Did you get the DVD for the Rock Prince concert? I just got it and miss the band with Won Bin. That concert is so cute. I really like the cartoon versions of them.

Sure, I will translate 바램. I want to do the new song “I hope” first. Then I will surely get to it, ok? I promise. I want you to come back to my blog often! (^.^)

You know FT Island is going to tour around Asia later this year. I think I want to go. I want to go to Taiwan, HK and Japan! Wouldn’t it be cool if I can see three concerts in a row? In fact I want to go to all of them. That will be awesome. That’s my dream for now! Have to be able to get the tickets first!

  19. natsuki376 says:

    grace(um..can i call u wth that name?)!
i’ve been very busy these past few weeks, juz dropped by to say hi.
yup, fti’s new songs are nice to hear, but for me it has no x-factor (sorry, dun ‘fire’ me!).
and you know what?! i found ‘him'(wonbin) already! no matter how he tried to hide, i found him! but all i can say is that he doesnt want to be found for the time being. he did say he dont want to leave us(especially the ones that he’s close wth), but he has to.
so all we can do is just wait for him patiently and respect his decision. look on the bright side; he’s still smiling!
k, talk later. i have to prepare for my assignment after this.

(p/s:being supportive to seung hyun! try to understand him more and you’ll find that he’s a very unique person)

    • mwgrace says:

Hi Natsuki (is that your real name?),

Sure, call me Grace. We are friends now. (^.^)/

How did you find WB? You are so awesome! You must know him really well. Is he happy? I hope he is. I wish him all the best. Usually I would think he already has things lined up when he decided to left FTI. But who knows. It was a difficult decision afterall. I am sure they are all close like brothers.

I actually don’t spend much time to understand Seung Hyun. He seems to be very different from what I could see.

Come back often and surely keep me updated on anything about WB. (^.^)

  20. natsuki376 says:

    natsuki376 here!
of course that’s not my real name.haha!i wanna keep myself a mystery!

well, i dun really been given a chance to know wb better. T-T (i’m still waiting for him)

but when i was(yes, i WAS) still addicted to fti and wb, i kept tracing him secretly (i still cant believed how crazy i was at that time).
and one day; 4 weeks ago if i’m not mistaken, i suddenly found him (though i cant really get much information bout him) but hey, it’s still him; still smiling!
wish i could show you the picture, but i respect his privacy and his decision.
no new info about him so far, but i’ll keep you the update if i have one!

    • mwgrace says:

No problem! It’s okay to not tell me your real name. So I am just going to address you as natsuki376 then. 🙂

I guess you have seen wb in person then. Wow! What a privilege! You definitely know where to go! Anyway, I will have to learn those from you. 🙂 As long as wb is happy, we are happy for him. I think he should be happy because he will get to the the kind of music he enjoys. That’s a good thing.

Sounds like you are not as crazy about wb and FTI as before. What are you into these days?

      • natsuki376 says:

grace, i believe we should contact wth each other through YM or something, coz this page is going to be filled with our conversation if we carry on like this. haha (then i’ll reveal some secrets to you!) ^-^

yup, i’m not as crazy to the boys as i was before. been kinda busy with my study. but when the lectures bored me, I’ll listen to my mp3 player. FTI is still on the list, but I usually listening KOKIA- DAIJI NA MONO WA MABUTA NO URA and UVERworld songs. yet frankly, i dont really have a strong interest in listening to music for the time being.

if you really want to contact me personally, feel free to visit and messageme at friendster. my username is the name- natsuki376

      • mwgrace says:

        HI natsuki376,

Yeah, I am going to connect with you through Friendster then. I have to admit, I don’t get on it often at all. 🙂

  21. Wendy says:

I just read that…”FT Island came in 1st position in the special segment of the radio show, Choi Hwajung’s Power Time “Summer Vacation! Idol Special” held last week as the best idol star, defeating SHINee, 2PM, 4Minute, IU, Outsider and other top idol stars.” Congrats to your boys. You must have voted a million times. LOL.

  22. Jamie says:

    hey Grace,
where can i see the picture of Korean boys you like??
i know you like Wonbin, but i would like to know what others cuties you like. 🙂

  23. Wendy says:

Girl, you must not watch a lot of Korean shows. They do that all the time between band members. They even have kissing games with band members…SUJU, Shinhwa, DBSK, 2PM (:0( sad that JaeBum is no longer with them)and 2AM to name a few. My new campaign is to bring back Wonbin and JaeBum…or maybe I can start a duo with these two!

    • mwgrace says:

I really don’t. ha ha… Maybe I should? It’s interesting to me and maybe I should see more shows. Any good shows to recommend?

I don’t think you should start a duo with Wonbin and JaeBum. I think you should start a group to include Wonbin, JaeBum and yourself? How’s that? You can invite me as the fourth member if you like. haha…

  24. Wendy says:

Heard FT Island is in the Philippines. Hope they’re alright. A huge storm hit there. There were a lot of casualties. FT Island 안전하게 지낼.

    • mwgrace says:

I saw those news too! I think it says where they are is okay but then they have to film everything in 2 days or something like that. I hope they are ok! Let’s all pray for them!

  25. Aryf says:

  30. MM says:

Hi could you please help me figure out which song this is? and what language it is in? thx ^_^

    • mwgrace says:

This is a Korean song called “Run” in Dream’s OST. I was kind of worried how could I find this song. Luckily it’s in the soundtrack. 🙂

  31. jooyoung says:

    Hello Grace~ nice sweather~
I bet you are wondering why I am saying nice sweather suddenly… haha
I watch an old movie, “While you were sleeping” in every single day, so that’s why I am just reminding of Joe Junior’s line of the movie. haha I think this movie is great, it’s too old, though.
    How are you? Everythings good?
You know what? My feeling is much better than before.
I’m so happy when I realize myself I’m getting better and better.
Did you go to FT Island’s concert? I forgot the date of concert.
I wanna hear from you how the concert was. haha

    • jooyoung says:

I wanna change the spelling of sweater
How can I corret it? haha

    • mwgrace says:

Yeah, what’s with “nice sweater?” It’s nice to hear that you are feeling better. Have you started exercising? I have. 🙂

I haven’t gone to the concert yet. It’s on February 17. I can’t wait. Don’t worry, keep checking on this blog and you will definitely hear about it. \(^.^)/

      How’s school? Everything going well?

  32. vampwolf says:

chongmal kumapsumida.Im so glad to find this website . im really thankful. it was really fun and useful.

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Vampwolf,

I am glad that you like the website. Are you learning Korean by yourself? How did you find this website?

Are you a big Van Helsing fan? Or horror movie fan? I noticed your name.

Please subscribe to the blog so you won’t miss a lesson!! 😉

  33. vampwolf says:

  34. vampwolf says:

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Vampwolf,

Yeah, I am onni for you. 🙂 You won’t think a guy will write so much about FT Island and so crazy to go and meet them too, right? haha….

Are you learning Korean in school or just self learning? Anyway, just make sure you have fun learning it. And that’s why I am writing this blog too. 😉 I think once you learned Korean, Japanese will be easy because they are similar in grammar. I learned Japanese before but almost forget all. I wish I had kept up with it. Maybe someday I will pick it up again so I can translate all the FT Island Japanese songs. 🙂

Let’s chat some time. Let me know what time is good for you. 🙂

  35. vampwolf says:

im a fantasy fan . and im afantasy writer . i love witch and wizards . everything about vampires and wolves . im an english teacher too.a basketball player and a TAR player .tar is a national Iranian music instrument and i love it. every body says im so active but i need someone like me to talk about kpop and jpop.please find me a korean friend…..oh great God……..

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Vamwolf,

You write too? Wow! That’s amazing! Seems like you have a very diverse interests. You are a writer, teacher, musician and athlete. That’s great! You are into jpop too? Who do you like? I know more about their heavy metal because my friend is a big fan and I always go to concerts with her. 🙂

  36. vampwolf says:

hi dear grace onni . im a fan of VAMPS i dont know them well . but i just heard some songs of them . they are 2 boys . im learning korean through internet by myself. im a big fan of korean wave. i want to color my hair like lee hong kee. i like his hair this time.uh ! cham! im a very very big fan of DBSK im a fan of them for two years.and i really cried when i heard about their disbandment…i want them all to get together again.oh onni…….i live in Iran.now its 2pm.set a good time to chat.kumapsumnida onni.annyong!!!!!!!!!!!1

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Vampwolf,

I should have known that you like VAMPS. They have the image that you like. ha ha… I have seen VAMPS here in the US last year. My friend is a big fan. They are coming again in October. Last time, we were so close to them when we went to check them out after the concert. Hyde literally was less than arms length in front of me. Man, he has really good skin and looks very young for his age. 🙂

You want to color your hair like Hong Ki? The recent one? It’s quite dark so I think it’s okay. I don’t think normal people can do like his orange color hair. :-p And you are also a big fan of DBSK? They are disbanded but aren’t they forming a similar thing in Japan? That’s last I saw but I am not sure if that’s possible. We shall see. 😉

So are you on YM so we could chat?

  37. vampwolf says:

yes i am on yahoo . you know what?i was thinking of you to come to Iran . i can take you to best historical places we can have good time here. come to Iran someday. i take you to Isfahan and shiraz . they are the most favorite places of mine . i can be a good leader.hehe.lets gather our money and go to korea someday…oh my god…….i need to be a rich princess . i wish to visit round the world someday. ton chuseyo………ooooohhhhhhhhhhh

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Vampwolf,

I am not thinking of going to Iran yet. But if you do travel to see FT Island say in Korea and I go there too, we should meet. 🙂 I would like to go to Iran some other time but no plans at this moment. But since I have a friend there now, maybe I can start thinking about it. But I assume it’s pretty expensive to go there.

Your Korean is quite good. Can you type Korean?

  38. vampwolf says:

uh cham ! onni why korean people pronounce N as D in Nuna ? they say duna. or dun. dunim . and things like that ,.and why they pronounce M as B in mul or michoso?they confuse me………towa chuseyo onni……..

    • mwgrace says:

I don’t think they pronounce N as D in Nuna. Do you mean in songs? In daily spoken Korean, they sounds exactly like it is as “nuna.” Sometimes in songs it might be a little different to go with the melody.

I have never heard of Koreans saying “mul” as “bul” because it’s a different thing. Are you sure?

  39. vampwolf says:

please take some pics of vamps for me . im gonna be a huge fan of them . they are really inspiring for me. i really like them . they are talented . and thats why i like them . i like smart and talented people .i just cant understand the reason why DBSK disbanded………it makes me depressed .

    • mwgrace says:

If I go, I will take some pictures for you. Or else I am sure my friends will take pictures of VAMPS too! Have you listen to the new single? It’s called “The first last.” It’s pretty good.

I think DBSK disband has to do with their management. Whatever happens behind the scenes must be complicated. Don’t worry, you still can listen to FT Island for now! 😉 Don’t be depressed. Cheer up!!!

can you translate the songs from SungKyunkwan Scandal OST?
they’re really good, especially the song ‘I Found You’ by JYJ (jaejoong yoochun junsu)

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Mizuki,

Thanks for the song suggestion. I will get familiar with the song and then see if I can translate it. 🙂 It sounds nice so far.

Do you like the lessons I have here? Any suggestions?

  43. Janie says:

    Hi Grace

I’ve been using the Sogang University site that you recommended in one of your post for learning Korean. I really like it! It’s good!

I was just thinking that you haven’t posted a lesson for some time. Have you been very busy? Think you can do another FT Island song? I always enjoy learning Korean with their songs. It’s the funnest way to study!

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Janie,

Glad that the recommendations helped you in your Korean studies. I know I haven’t been posting a lesson in a while. The fully thing is I have the pieces but just didn’t put it together. I will do that next week, ok? I promise.

  44. jooyoung says:

You are still a huge fan of FT Island’s.
I can’t believe it. I thought you would be a fan of others.
    It’s awesome. 🙂

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Jooyoung,

Yes, I am still a big fan of FT Island! 🙂 I don’t change that much. Very loyal fans usually. How are you doing?

  45. kevinia says:

    Hi Grace.

I’m happen to found your blog while browsing for learning Korean through lyrics. Actually, I’m a university student and I have to conduct a research on how to learn Korean language. After browsing through your blog, now I get a clear a picture on how to learn Korean through lyrics.

Thank you so much =) Wish you can teach me more ^^

    • kevinia says:

      Grace, hello again.

I’m a student from Malaysia. I would like to ask your guidance as I’m in the process to learn Korean language. Is there any way where I can contact you? Do you have any Facebook or Twitter account?

Hope to hear your reply soon.Thank you ^_^

      • mwgrace says:

        Hi Kevinia,

I do have a Twitter account. Follow me @mwgrace. I though I have the Twitter widget here but actually not. I need to get that fixed. 🙂

Please feel free to contact me here or Twitter and let’s see how we can help each other on learning Korean. I definitely like interacting with others who enjoy my work. It’s my honor. 😀

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Kevinia,

I am glad that you found my blog. Thanks for stopping by. Are you learning Korean or just doing research?

      • kevinia says:

        Hi Grace,

I was really shocked when I saw your reply today. It really made my day ^^

I have been learning Korean since my high school time. Since topic for the research project can be choose based on interest, therefore I decided to do research on using music (song + lyrics) in enhancing Korean language acquisition.

For me, it is quite fun to do this research as I will improve my Korean skills as well as proving that Kpop music is not just for entertainment part only.

        * Actually, I’m quite tired hearing some bashful comments from anti-Kpop fans in my country. Keke~

      • mwgrace says:

        Hi Kevinia,

It’s always nice for me to meet other Korean learners and Kpop fans. I am always excited when people leave me a comment. That makes my day too. 🙂

Sounds like you have been learning Korean for a long time too? Or are you still in high school? ha ha…

Let me know if I can help you with your research. Are you following me on Twitter now? 🙂

What country are you from? I thought the Korean wave has taken over the world. Where are the anti-kpop fans? :-p

  46. Learning English is not difficult as long as you practice consistently.

  47. kevinia says:

    Hi Grace.

Now, i’m a university student. It has been almost 3 years since I started learning Korean. My progress is quite slow since I also need to focus on other subjects as well. Hehe ^^

Btw, for my research project, I would be glad if you would agree to be interviewed on your experience in learning Korean, as well as managing this blog and promoting learning Korean through lyrics. What do you think?

Oh, and I already follow you on Twitter~ Mine is @MunieYana =)

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Kevinia,

I see. I guess you can’t be too old! 😀 What is your major? I know it’s hard for you to focus on Korean when you have school to deal with. Unless Korean is one of your school subject, it would be hard.

Sure, you can interview me. I hope I can be of help. 🙂 Let me know how you want to do it.

I am now following you on Twitter as well. I see that you are from Malaysia. FT just want to Malaysia a while back, right? Did you go to see them?

      • kevinia says:

        Hi Grace,

I’m majoring in pharmacy and doing foundation program to further my study in Australia ^^ I hope that I can pass the cut off pointer to fly to oversea~ Pray for me =)

Thanks for accepting the interview request. I personally think the interview is easier to be done through email. Is that okay for you?

For FT Island concert, I bought the ticket, but at that time, there was a partner program with students from Korea, and I was selected to assist them. So, I have no choice but to sell my ticket to my friend T_T

It was quite a pity since I have been saving money for the ticket since last year, and even got up early to purchase it -_-

Btw, I saw your post that you will be going to FT Island concert in LA. Right now, I’m very jealous of you~ Keke

      • mwgrace says:

        Dear Kevinia,

Pharmacy…I thought about majoring in it but it’s too much memorization for me. I doubted that I would be good at it. :-p I will pray for you that you can go to study in Australia. Australia is such a nice place, I heard.

Yes, let’s do the interview over email. Let me know when you are ready.

It’s such a bummer that you cannot go when they were in Malaysia. But I think FT goes to Malaysia more often than coming to US. So I hope you can get to see them another time. Otherwise, you live close enough to go to Korea to see them someday. I am sure you will see them eventually.

I am so looking forward to going to see FT Island here in LA! It’s going to be crazy! \(^.^)/

  48. kevinia says:

    Dear Grace,

I already finish preparing the interview questions. Let me know your email address when you want to proceed the interview ^^

How about the FT Island concert? Have you been there? Or not yet? I would love to hear more about it >_<

    • mwgrace says:

That’s cool. I will email you my email. 🙂

Do you mean have I been to Nokia Theatre or FT Island concert? I have not been to Nokia Theatre yet so I am looking forward to it. Too bad you are not coming or else we could do the interview in person. 🙂

  49. kevinia says:

    Hi Grace,

The interview questions have been sent to your email. Thanks a lot for your cooperation ^^ Will be waiting for your reply then~

I meant FT Island concert in LA, since you mentioned that you bought the ticket concert ^^ Oh, did you watch their recent comeback?? I love their MV, its really dramatic, yet full of heartthrob scenes T_T

    • mwgrace says:

I got them. I will finished them in this long weekend. No worries! 🙂

I did watch their comeback and shared some of the videos here on this blog. Yes, there are lots of heartthrob scenes. I like when they all dressed white. All prince-charming! ^^

  50. kevinia says:

    Hi Grace,

I already receive your reply for the interview. Thank you very much ^^ It is very helpful to my research and I really2x appreciate it =) Btw, it is okay for me to ask another favor from you?

Now, I’m in the middle of doing online survey about effectiveness of music in learning Korean. Therefore, if you don’t mind, I want to ask your permission to post the link of the questionnaire form in your blog. I think your blog is very useful in helping other Kpop fans to learn Korean including me, thus it is easier to get opinions from different perspective. What do you think?

Sorry for bothering you a lot. Hope to hear a good news soon ^^

    • mwgrace says:

      Hi Kevinia,

Sure, please feel free to post the link of the questionnaire on my blog. I am glad that I could be of help to your research! 🙂

  51. kevinia says:

    Hi Grace,

Thank you again ^^ I don’t know how to pay back your kindness. May GOD bless you always =)

    Here is the questionnaire link

Please feel free to promote it on your blog ^^ Kpop Hwaiting~!
